Mike Twiggs (owner) was raised growing fig trees. His grandmother immigrated to America from Italy bringing with her a taste and burning love for fig fruit. Unlike Bananas or other foreign fruit, the nature of the fig fruit causes it to have a very short shelf life once picked making it a challenging fruit to grow in international farms, distribute and sell fresh in local grocery markets. The only way to eat fresh, delicious figs is to grow them yourself.
